Persistent Mouth Lesion, Lump or Unusual Change?
Assessment may include your history, clinical examination and appropriate tests or referral. Not every mouth sore is cancer, and a consultation page cannot provide a diagnosis.
If symptoms are severe or you need urgent medical care, seek immediate local care.

What to expect
A careful assessment and clear next steps
The goal of the first visit is to understand your concern and decide whether further tests, treatment or referral are needed. Arrange dental or medical assessment for an ulcer lasting more than three weeks. A persistent red or white patch or mouth lesion, an unexplained lump or continuing swallowing difficulty also needs review. Seek assessment earlier if symptoms are worsening or you are concerned.
Tell the team when the change began, whether it is growing and whether there is pain or bleeding. Breathing difficulty or rapidly increasing swelling needs urgent medical attention.
01
History and examination
The consultation includes a history and examination of the mouth and surrounding tissues. Relevant medicines, medical conditions, habits and earlier reports help guide the assessment.
02
Tests when indicated
The clinician explains whether additional imaging, a sample or another investigation is appropriate. If a biopsy is advised, ask why it is needed, how the sample will be taken, who provides the report and when the findings will be reviewed.
03
Referral or follow-up
Treatment is guided by the examination and confirmed results. Receive a clear next step, which may include review by another specialist.
Before you visit
Bring details that help understand mouth lesion
The initial visit identifies what needs investigation. A biopsy, specialist referral or results discussion may require a separate appointment. Agree how and when the team will communicate the findings and what to do if the symptom worsens.
The one-time registration and consultation fee is ₹1,500, including clinically indicated in-house scans and X-rays. Any biopsy, laboratory test or additional procedure is explained and quoted separately before proceeding.
The consultation fee is ₹1,500 one time. Confirm whether any additional test or procedure has a separate charge.

Experience · comfort · trust
Care planned around you
Expect a calm, careful examination and a clear explanation of next steps. No diagnosis is given online. Keep the appointment arranged to discuss a test result or reassess the lesion. If a change persists, grows or develops new symptoms, contact the treating clinician rather than assuming the first assessment ends the process.
Experience
Careful examination
A clinician reviews the change, your history and whether further tests or referral may be appropriate.
Comfort
A calm next step
The team explains the assessment and any recommended test or follow-up in clear language.
Trust
No online diagnosis
A website cannot diagnose a mouth lesion. If a test or referral is advised, its purpose and next step will be explained.
Assessment FAQs
Clear, reassuring answers
Does every persistent sore mean cancer?
No. Many conditions can cause mouth sores or changes. A qualified clinician can examine the area and explain whether tests or referral are needed.
Will I need a biopsy?
Only a clinician can decide after examining you. If a biopsy or another test is advised, its purpose and next steps should be explained.
Can I send a photo instead of visiting?
A photo may help explain your concern, but it cannot replace an in-person examination when one is needed.
Does a mouth ulcer always mean cancer?
No. An examination is needed to identify the cause of a persistent or unusual change.
Does every lesion need a biopsy?
No. The decision follows the clinical findings and the question the investigation needs to answer.
